NSW GBOTA LODGES DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION FOR ORANGE TRACK
A Development Application (DA) has been formally lodged for the construction of a new greyhound racing track in Orange, a significant step toward expanding regional racing infrastructure in New South Wales.
The proposed facility aims to deliver a modern, purpose-built venue that meets minimum industry standards also enhancing opportunities for participants and spectators alike. The project will bring economic benefits to the local community through job creation, tourism along with increased engagement in the sport.
Key features of the proposal include:
• A state-of-the-art racing track designed for safety and performance that meet Greyhound Racing NSW minimum standards
• On-site amenities for trainers, owners, and visitors
• Compliance with Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission standards
This initiative aligns with the NSW Greyhound Breeders, Owners and Trainers Association (GBOTA) commitment of investing in racing infrastructure in the right locations, ensuring facilities are strategically placed to support the sport’s growth and sustainability across the state.
The DA submission reflects a strong focus on community engagement and shared benefits. In addition to the racing track, the proposal explores opportunities for secondary community and sporting facilities, creating a multi-purpose venue that can serve a broader range of local needs.

The NSW GBOTA aims to meet the highest animal welfare standards, while supporting regional commitments.
