Gets Late Early Grabs G2 Beast Unleashed Gosford Cup Glory

Littermates, Gets Late Early and Both Bowers Ace, finished first and second in Friday’s Group Two Beast Unleashed Gold Cup Final, giving trainer Melinda Finn the quinella in front of a packed crowd at Gosford Showground.

Exiting from boxes seven and eight respectively, Jason Magri’s Chief Lightning speared the lids from box three and lead the field into the back straight. Both Bowers Ace quickly ate into the margin, jostling with the leader turning for home. Gets Late Early, known for her powerful finishes, swept down the outside to claim victory by half a length, recording a time of 29.33.

It was the daughter of Flying Ricciardo and Poco Rico’s 26th career win from 71 starts, with her prizemoney total sitting at $277,725.
