Casual GWIC steward, Stephanie Richards, is donning a colourful new hairdo, after pledging her support behind the Leukaemi Foundation, to raise vital funds for over 140,000 families facing the battle of blood cancer at present.
The World’s Greatest Shave has become a renowned annual fundraiser, with Steph aiming to raise $1500.00. This is her first time participating in the event, with 15 race names on offer for eager sponsors to get behind such an amazing and important cause.
Each race name can be purchased for an amount of $200.00 and will be available at the following tracks:
Maitland – Monday 11th March, 2024
Gosford – Tuesday 12th March, 2024
The Gardens (Newcastle) – Saturday 16th March, 2024
Anyone who would like to sponsor a race name will be invited to come to the race night and be able to have a photo with the winning Greyhound of their sponsored race. Their business name will be advertised as normal on the centre-fore board. In the race book on the race night.
Please contact Steph if you wish to sponsor a race, to confirm the availability of races and locations. Her email address is Stephanie.richards93@icloud.com.
The funds raised from the race name sponsorships, will be deposited directly into the Leukaemia Foundation page via this link https://secure.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?RegistrationID=899014 and please use your business name as the reference, if sponsoring a race.
Upon making a donation or purchasing a race name sponsorship, you will receive a tax invoice directly from the foundation, confirming your donation has been completed.
Steph is also looking for items to raffle-off as prizes, so any businesses big or small in these local areas are more than welcome to contact her for any donated items (products or gift cards). She can also organise a pick-up or location drop off point.
Big or small, every donation matters – and help’s support Australians living with blood cancer today, while investing in a better tomorrow.
$30 – provides an information pack to a family who’ve just received a blood cancer diagnosis, and helps them understand and prepare for the challenges ahead.
$64 – makes sure that a Blood Cancer Support Coordinator is there for someone newly diagnosed to help them navigate the scary moments that follow diagnosis.
$80 – provides the first night of accommodation for a regional family who has urgently relocated to the city for life-saving treatment with nowhere to stay.
$150 – supports the research of a PhD scholarship recipient for a whole day. This brilliant scientist could discover the next great breakthrough towards a cure. And it could be because of you.
