NSW GBOTA and Ladbrokes have today announced a landmark multi-year deal which will become the largest club partnership in the Australian greyhound racing industry.
Ladbrokes has been a long-standing supporter of greyhound racing in NSW and has been a proud partner of the NSW GBOTA since 2017. The new deal will extend through until at least 2025, with a further two-year option.
The new agreement will ensure Ladbrokes remains the major sponsor and exclusive wagering partner of Wentworth Park, the sole Metropolitan venue in NSW, as well as club operations in Bulli, Bathurst, Gosford, Maitland, Gunnedah and Temora.
“Greyhound racing has been incredibly important to Ladbrokes growth in the Australian market,” Ladbrokes Australia CEO Dean Shannon said.
“The industry has experienced some very tough times and I am proud that our company has stuck solid with clubs and participants through those and now they are moving forward in leaps and bounds.
“Our partnership with GBOTA is a cornerstone of our commitment to backing greyhound racing in NSW and it is great to know we are going to be working together for many years to come.”
The deal will see a number of new innovations unveiled throughout the partnership with a focus on engaging new and existing audiences and improving the on track and broadcast experience.
Ladbrokes commitment is further highlighted by the fact the new deal will be fast-tracked by six months to commence immediately, beginning with this Saturday’s meeting which features the running of the Ladbrokes Paws of Thunder Final, Ladbrokes National Derby Final and Ladbrokes National Futurity Final at Wentworth Park.
GBOTA CEO, Allan Hilzinger said: “We are grateful for the support that Ladbrokes has continued to provide greyhound racing in NSW.
“What excites me the most about this partnership is that it is bigger than purely providing visual exposure for Ladbrokes through dynamic signage.
“When working through this deal with Ladbrokes both organisations had clearly aligned intentions. Part of the NSW GBOTA’s future strategy is to engage new audiences and through their unique approach to content and product development, Ladbrokes is a clear market leader in this regard.”
