NSW Greyhound Breeders, Owners and Trainers’ Association (GBOTA) and its chairperson Mr
Geoff Rose today congratulated Mr Brenton Scott on his appointment as the new chief executive
officer of Greyhound Racing SA.
Mr Rose said he wished Mr Scott well in his new post and praised him for his contribution to
greyhound racing in NSW.
“Make no mistake, Mr Scott was instrumental in the fight to save greyhound racing in NSW when
the then-Baird Government tried to ban the industry,” Mr Rose said.
“As the former CEO of GBOTA, he oversaw the operation of racing venues and helped lead the
team which successfully opposed the then-Premier Mike Baird’s ill-conceived attempt to end
greyhound racing in NSW.
“Admittedly, he led the NSW greyhound community at one of the toughest times in the industry’s
history.
“Mr Scott will be drawing on his more than 25 years’ experience around Australia to support the
South Australian greyhound racing community. He is one of Australia’s most experienced
greyhound racing administrators.
“He showed how it was possible to support the industry; drive revenue and growth and invest in
infrastructure and greyhound welfare.
“GBOTA sends their best wishes to Mr Scott in his new endeavour as he opens a new chapter in
his career in the Australian greyhound industry.”
