The NSW GBOTA is proud to announce the appointment of Luke Foley and Katrina Hodgkinson as Patrons of the Association.
It is a great honour to have two individuals of such integrity, commitment, and historical significance to the greyhound racing industry join us in this capacity.
Both Mr Foley and Ms Hodgkinson played pivotal roles during one of the most challenging chapters in our sport’s history — the proposed ban on greyhound racing in New South Wales. As Leader of the Opposition, Luke Foley stood firmly and vocally in support of our participants, recognising the injustice of the proposed legislation and fighting for a more balanced and evidence-based approach.
Equally, Katrina Hodgkinson demonstrated immense courage and principle by crossing the floor of Parliament to oppose the ban — a decision that resonated across the industry and earned her the enduring respect of thousands of greyhound participants and supporters.
Their unwavering commitment during that critical time helped secure the future of our sport in NSW, and their continued support in the years since has not gone unnoticed.
The Board believes their appointment as Patrons is a fitting recognition of their advocacy, and we look forward to working closely with both Luke and Katrina as we continue to modernise, grow, and protect the industry we all care so deeply about.
