The funeral for the late, Mr. John Tracey, will be held on Thursday 21st November, 2024, commencing at 11.30am, at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Military Rd, Matraville, to be held in the West Chapel.
Following the service, everyone is welcome to a celebration of Mr. Tracey’s life, to be held at the Yarra Bay Sailing Club.
Mr. Tracey was a member of the GBOTA for over 40 years and a brilliant historian, advocate and mentor for greyhound racing, who cared deeply for participants and their greyhounds.
He founded the Greyhound Welfare Trust to assist rehoming organisations, along with leading and participating in a number of charity events.
Mr. Tracey was a strong advocate and voice during the proposed NSW ban, aiding participants and advocating for the industry, with a successful outcome.
He will be sadly missed by everyone for his warmth, kind heart and dedication to an industry he loved dearly.
