On Thursday evening at Wentworth Park, Zipping Vanessa (NSW Distance) for John and Minnie Finn and Modern Swinger (NSW Sprint) for Chris O’Brien, secured their spots to represent the state at the National Championships Finals at The Meadows on August 26th, 2023.
Zipping Vanessa took control from box two, entering the home straight on the first occasion, saluting by 6.75 lengths over Palawa King, clocking a sizzling time of 41.61 over the 720m.
Modern Swinger was victorious in a tightly contested sprint final over the 520m, taking full advantage of the inside alley to score by 0.75 lengths over We Don’t Share in a time of 29.80.
Palawa King for Jack Smith was awarded a wildcard entry and will also contest the National Distance Championship Final.
