Maitland Greyhound Track has on-site canteen facilities serving hot food, snacks and a fully licensed bar available for patrons on race days.
Maitland will run the Group 2 Maitland Gold Cup over 450m in December, the Maitland Gold Collar over 450m in March or April, the Les Darcy Cup in September, the Ladbrokes Future Stars Maiden series in December and a host of other feature events throughout the year.
Maitland, situated in the Hunter Valley and Newcastle region of NSW, is home to steam trains and legendary boxer Les Darcy. It also plays host to Maitland Greyhounds, which race each Monday night, with operations overseen by the NSW Greyhound Breeders, Owners and Trainers Association (NSW GBOTA).
One of the most supported local racing TAB venues, Maitland is one of the highest performing sponsorship venues in the NSW GBOTA portfolio.
Situated on Maitland Showground land, the Maitland Greyhounds works with other parties such as Maitland Harness and the Horticultural Society to attract a range of secondary events such as Groovin The Moo.
Trial sessions are held on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 8.00am during daylight saving and from 9.00am during non-daylight saving times.
Trials are also held after the last race on race days/nights when the last race finishes before 10.30pm. The last trial held after the last on a race day/night will be at 11pm sharp.

Currently the Maitland Showground plays host to Maitland Show held in February and the Maitland Markets. In addition to these great events harness racing, mini trotting and rodeos are also conducted at our venue.
Opportunities exist on the weekend and during the week to hire the Maitland Showground and you could be the next biggest success. You can hire the showground for your next event, festival, tradeshow, music event, party, car shows or community events.
We can accommodate up to 45 people for functions and seminars in the air-conditioned Committee Room, which has kitchen and toilet facilities. We also have a range of catering options available for your event.
