Good Odds Cobber was simply brilliant in taking out the G2 Beast Unleashed Gosford Gold Cup on Tuesday evening, from box three, for astute mentors, Frank and Tracey Hurst. The beautifully bred son of Fernando Bale and Good Odds Meghan hunted up along the rails heading into the back straight, taking control of proceedings and fending off a late challenge by runner-up Eyes To Eyes, to score by three quarters of a lengths in a slick time of 29.31. It was his 10th career victory from just 15 starts, with a G1 Ladbrokes National Derby campaign at Wentworth Park now likely on the cards.
Neville Brown’s impressive run of form with Eyes To Eyes continued as he was gallant in defeat, with My Hepburn for Sue Smith, posting a brave performance from box eight in third.
