Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase winner, Blue Kermaro’s, love affair with Wentworth Park continued on Saturday 21st December, notching up his first Group One victory, in the inaugural running of the Ladbrokes Paul Wheeler “Simply The Best” final.
Exiting from box two, the Victorian trained chaser showed all heart to punch-up along the fence and take control of proceedings in the at the top of the home straight over the 520m journey. He showed plenty of grit and determination to hold off notable finisher, Gets Late Early, by 1.75 lengths at the finish, clocking another sizzling time of 29.40.
It takes the Josh Formosa-trained chasers Wentworth Park record to an impeccable four wins from five outings. His prizemoney total, thanks to the $75,000 winner’s purse, now sits at $1,179,030. It was also Formosa’s first Group One victory as a trainer.
